Classroom Leadership Profiles
Room 11 has a responsible bunch of kids who have been given roles of class leadership. They are the class councillors and class captains.
Our class councillor is Sophie Paraha. She is a friendly girl who always gets her work done on time and can straighten someone out if she needs to. She has a bunch of different responsibilities tied in with this, like thinking of two people to go into the positive behaviour award box every day.
Followed closely Sophie is the deputy class councillor is Elise Cacace. She always listens to the teacher and has a nice smile on her face …….. ……..most of the time. She has the job of filling in for Sophie if she is not at school.
Our class captain is Tyren Anderson. He knows how to get a class to behave (sometimes), Straighten up a class line if it’s messy (sometimes), and can crack a good joke (sometimes) if he wants to. He’s kind of like a Vice Deputy Class Councillor.
And for our deputy class captain we have Daniel Dalgliesh. He’s practically Tyrens right hand man. He’s a good guy to be friends with and can get people to act responsibly if they need to.

Bushaven – A Camping Experience.
After weeks of excitement, planning and preparation , it was finally time to pack our bags and head down to Bushaven, Opotiki, with Room 19. We arrive at the base and help the adults set up the tents, which the girls would be sleeping in for the first night. This was while the boys were on the hill in the cabins.
All the kids explored the campsite whilst the adults relaxed after driving for hours. We all clambered over rocks, towards the ice cold river, ready for a stone skimming contest. Later on we all go for a refreshing swim in the river. We jumped off rocks and tubed down the rapids. As the sun set we prepared ourselves for the Burma trail the adults had set up earlier on. Darkness surrounded us and we worked our way across the river, towards the forest. We were all sent off in pairs with only a rope to guide us. We staggered up hills and slid down them, all screaming when the adults scared us.
We all sipped our warm milo as we recovered from the mini heart attacks the Burma trail had given us. Then we all went had a well deserved sleep in our warm sleeping bags, preparing ourselves for another day of full on fun!
