Room 21

Mr Simon Kolo 'ofa si'

Room 21 Class Introduction

It’s a new year and Room 21 has had a fantastic start to 2012. We have an AWESOME teacher Mr Simon Kolo’ofa’i, who is a fun, caring, musical, athletic teacher. With a class that has a fun and eager attitude.

Rm 21 is a mischievous class who muck around a lot but focus when it comes to learning. We recently went on our Syndicate D camp, where we got to know each other better and got to know each other better.

We have two wonderful leaders in our class. Our class counsiler, (Ariana Nicholas) and deputy, (Kiri Holland). They have helped us in our work and are great role models to the new year 7’s.

We are currently learning about Ancient Rome and are holding an Annual Roman Museum night for our friends and family. We have assigned projects to complete to show-case on the night. This is just one of the things we do to learn as a class.

Teacher Profile: Simon Kolo’ofa’i

Mr Kolo’ofa’i is a very energetic, colourful, intelligent, hard case teacher who is always smiling and 100% committed to teaching his students. He has a very unique sense of humour and is always there to be your friend in and out of school. I couldn’t ask for a better teacher. He is utterly and literally - the man!

Mr K was born in Auckland and raised in Dunedin. He has taught at several other schools and enjoys playing guitar and making videos. He’s a very skilled sportsman and enjoys teaching his students social studies.

Mr K came to our school in Term 2 last year. Since then he has become much more comfortable and has evolved into “The Coolest Teacher Ever!” Not only is he a gifted basketball player but he’s also musically talented. He plays guitar and sings for our Syndicate every Friday and occasionally plays for our class. He’s also passionate in his video making and is an awesome break dancer.

But most of this writing is just one student’s opinion, so I decided to ask some of my classmates what they think of Mr K.

“He’s enthusiastic when he teaches and he’s a very active caring teacher”. Meg

“Very sporty, he helps you and persuades you, he would never give up on you and he’ll accept you for who you are” Joshua

Well there you have it, you can’t get any better than Mr Kolo’ofa’i. He’s the best teacher you could ask for.
