Miss Hannah Goodman
Introduction - Term 1
Room 23 is one of the best classes in the school, mainly because of the large amount of learning resources, well behaved, humourous students and an amazing teacher – Hannah Goodman. Detailed below are some of the classes’ subjects that are being taught.
Reading
Always important, reading is one of our main subjects. Our teacher read us a book called The Cay and set us activities on it for the better part of the term, but we will be starting something different soon.
Maths
One of the most useful skills you will have, our class uses AWS which are portfolios full of maths activities. There are two levels of difficulty in the AWS: Level 3, and level 4.
Spelling
Our spelling is simple to grasp, but can be challenging, especially for the extension group (The highest group). We use groups to learn spelling words, which help smooth out the lessons and makes things easier for the teacher.
Writing
When the teacher sets us writing it is more often than not enjoyable, such as our writing on The Bear. That’s what we call it anyway. We were shown a picture of a bear’s head roaring and were supposed to write how we would feel.
Topic
For this subject we are learning about the Ancient Egyptians, their lives, literature, culture and hierarchy. So far we’ve been drawing diagrams on how mummies are made and writing down facts about pyramids and pharaohs. We’ve even done homework where we wrote what we would see, hear, feel, and taste on a day in Egypt.
So there you are. Hopefully our class lives up to high expectations, and hopefully you’re impressed at what we’re all doing in Room 23. The only possible downside to our wonderful room is that we have to work hard, but at least we can see the value of that hard work and how it can pay off. We hope that you can visit our room some time and see for yourself what we can achieve here at this school.

Student Writing -
A Long Night at Camp
Dinner time.- As I approached the C-Block building I noticed a lot of students running as fast as possible to be first in line for dinner. Unfortunately for them, everyone had to get their food in accordance to classes and year groups.
For my dinner I had a burger and one sausage. Very filling. After everyone was full, it was time for the Fear Factor entree`s to conquer their gag reflex and down five delicious pieces of cuisine: A chicken heart, blue vein cheese, ox liver, cow kidney, and black pudding. Scrumptious. Well, the last one anyway. (Joke).
After all that, it was time for the thing everyone was waiting for: The movie that turned out to be Kung Fu Panda 2. It was average, but a nice distraction until bed.
The movie finished, and we headed back to our tents. At the same time we got back, it started to rain. Fun! Well, fun for my tent group anyway.
Judging from the yelling I could barely hear, at least some of the tents were completely flooded, including one right next to us! Our tent wasn’t flooded, luckily.
After a couple of minutes talking, everyone in our slightly overcrowded tent ran out of things to say dozed off. It took awhile though.
The next day was a long one, crammed full of activities and things to do, so it was somewhat of a relief when it was time to leave. It helped that it wasn’t raining either, which was quite strange, because the night before it was pouring down.
