Karakia:
Every morning at 8:30, Room 8, Te Timatanga Hou, joins the rest of syndicate A in morning Karakia. The meaning and reason we do Karakia is to bless and pray for those who are away, sick and also
to have a good day and hope that we achieve.
Our Class Name - Te Timatanga Hou
Room 8 is lucky enough to have our own Maori name that represents our class. There is a meaning behind it which is “The start of a new beginning”.
Whaea Rochelle (Kaiawhina):
In our classroom, Te Timatanga Hou, we have a kaiawhina, and are very lucky to have her. Whaea Rochelle’s job is to assist us with our work. She is a very great help and we enjoy having her
around.
Syndicate Assembly:
Every Friday Te Timatanga Hou, Room 8, attends Syndicate Assembly to share triumphs, certificates, korero, work and talents with the rest of the Bilingual classes. Some of the things we do
are…..
Line Dancing:
Line Dancing is one of Te Timatanga Hou’s favourite things, as you get to share your dance moves and have an enjoyable time dancing along with the rest of the Immersion syndicate.
Waiata:
Room 8 have a lot of musical talents which we like to share as we sing waiata.
Class Leaders:
Te Timatanga Hou’s class councillors are unique and special as they hold specific qualities and skills nobody else has. Their focus for the class is to be 2nd in charge to the teacher.
Our class councillor is Waimaria Wana and Deputy is Montana Tawaka-Kelly.
