Surfing

On Friday the 11th of March Whakatane Intermediate’s Surf Teams were invited to Mt Maunganui to compete in the annual surf competition.

Both teams had a roaring start they paddle out and caught fantastic waves. They were both put forward to the next round finding that they were competing against each other.

WIS 1 won the second round putting them into the finals.

WIS 1 came third in the finals from finding that there were no good waves for high scores.

WIS 2 came third in repechage and missing out in the finals. Jared Gebert got the highest score of the day and got the biggest wave rider of the day!!!
